serving our clients since 1985
Polar Bear Chimney Sweep was started in 1985 by my father. I grew up helping him by installing fireplaces and stoves. He has since passed the company to me. Our number one priority to this day is still to make sure our customers have a safe fireplace and/or stove to heat their home.
wHY Is it IMPORTANT?
Because Your Safety comes first!
Over time, chimneys may become clogged with creosote, a by-product of burning wood. This builds up over time and leaves a highly combustible creosote on the inside of the chimney. Creosote build up is often caused by poor air supply, so your regular chimney cleaning helps to prevent creosote formation as well.
Your Chimney, Fireplace and vent needs to be inspected at least once every other year. If not it can cause smoke to fill your house or a fire in the chimney.
Dryer vent cleaning
After a while lint can build up and become a fire hazard, It doesn’t all get caught by the lint trap.
If the mortar within the fireplace is beginning to crumble and bricks are becoming loose it is time to have the joint repaired.
What We Sell
Typically made of steel or cast iron, Log Grates will increase air movement around the fire, allowing it to burn more evenly and efficiently.
The Lighter Bar is installed under the grate in a wood-burning fireplace to make the task of getting a fire started easier and safer.
The Damper is usually located in the throat of a chimney just above the firebox and is meant to seal your fireplace shut when it is not in use.
The Chimney Cap will prevent animals from entering your home, keep the moisture out, and protect the roof from burning embers that could start a house fire.
If you have a prefabricated fireplace, commonly known as a factory-made fireplace you have refractory panels on the sides and bottom of your firebox. These panels are made to withstand heat and add strength and durability to the fireplace
